Here’s to waiting. And waiting. And waiting. And waiting.

How about a frustrating blog this time? Sound like fun? Okie doke. Let’s see what we can come up with.

My daughter is now officially two days overdue. Little Noah is quite comfy where he’s at, teasing his momma with an occasional contraction or two. Every once in a while he makes her think, It’s time!, only to sweetly snuggle back into place for another day of cooking. I swear he’s smiling when he does this. Momma’s not.

Neither is Nana. Nana has a migraine right now – has had it for days. It’s been joyful. Gotta love living on pins and needles, every second of every day, waiting for the moment to arrive, while doing school, while writing a book, while doing laundry, dishes, shopping, fielding phone calls… you get the picture. Life’s been a blast.

And yet… good things come to those who wait, right?

And wait, we must. So then, I guess the issue isn’t whether we wait, but how we wait. And since we really have very little say in the matter, we might as well wait with dignity. And maybe even a few laughs. Hey, it sure beats waiting with a migraine… and no sleep… and eating chocolate…

A girlfriend reminded us in group last week: If you want to make God laugh, just tell Him your plans. You’ve got to know He’s having a good belly-aching laugh right now. That’s okay; we trust Him. And know He’s as anxious for us to see this little booger as we are.

So that’s where I’m at. What about you? Waiting for anything yourself? In complete torture? With a headache? And chocolate stains on your teeth?

Maybe this will help us all:

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:14
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting.
Job 8:21
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matt. 6:34

Praying that we all decide to wait for whatever it is we’re hanging in there for with smiles, patience and laughter! (Okay, and maybe a tad of chocolate.)

God’s creation plans are amazing. Who would think this could be normal?

    Anxiously waiting.

    Great; great, great grandma,

my heart and prayers are with you–wish I could hug Bonita right now. And you, sweet woman, the stress is causing the head aches. God’s timing sucks sometime! On another sad note, my son David just called me about his step Mom. After being declared cancer free 2 months ago, the big C is back and there is nothing they can do but make her comfortable. 57 years old! I am sick for them–my ex will fall apart because this 3rd wife is the love of his life. Take care of YOU!!! love, Teri

Yes – we are in the same boat! Noah will be anxiously waiting for his grandma to hold him; we can’t wait to see you all either. I guess we should both be trying to sleep, haha. Hope you have a safe trip. You’ll be here before you know it! :)
